Actually Andy, it's a chrome effect spray available from Halfords or B&Q etc.  Cost's about a fiver a tin.  Just remember to rub the yellow plastic with abrasive paper and make sure it's free from grease.  Keep the tin though as some bits, especially the washer bottle cap, need redoing every now and again :y

Not a specific type of paint for plastic then?
Car manufacturers always seem to have to make the engine multi coloured for the numpties that can't find things if they don't. I lost the black oil filler cap from my Senator, and when I went to buy another I was presented with a yellow replacement!  :( I had to get  a black one from the scrappies.
