Really Quite Sad
« on: 17 July 2007, 15:44:08 »

I know that many on here, including me, often break cars. Yes theres a lot of money in it.

I, like most, break cars that are uneconomical to repair or have seen better days.

This on the other hand is tragic, from what i can see theres nothing wrong with the car - he has just decided it is worth more in parts than as a whole car.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that if the numbers on the odometer were jumbled like this one, it was a sign that the clock had been tampered with?

this is a 2000W MV6, and i dont see a sispicious mileometer personally, maybe just the camera angle a bit low, how much should it be selling for, being as there's nothing wrong with it?

he's mentioned work done but not mentioned actual service history..

Nahh no way, there has to be something dodgy about that, its on 80k miles and W reg MV6 - that would fetch more than he thinks, he says you can get 'ex official cars cheaper' but does he realise that ex plod etc dont have the regular MV6 trim and gadgets that the joe public had?
The fact that he's stressing that he wants to break a perfectly good low milage car makes me think it could possibly be stolen or some other sinister background...... what do you lot think?

Why would someone buy a car, drive it for a year and then just break it if it was perfectly good?

Something very odd about that... Either he's nuts or the car's nicked.

I must agree there must be something dodgy going on here the car is still in good condition, i think he obviously thinks he can earn more by stripping it, although i personally don`t believe  he could :-?

Good point cav9_4 - also the interior looks more like an Elite to me rather than MV6, although im no expert on trims so someone else will probably comment?

If im correct, and there is a good possibility im wrong, but 2 MV6's ive seen with leather had 'recaro' stitched into the back rest of the seat...... if you go over there with cash, make sure you take someone with you, he seems to be making sure he's untracable with no paypal and 'cash only pickup' Personally I wouldnt touch anything on it with a barge pole, tho it could just be an honest 'too good to be true'?
