Reading meet No5 (Midhurst)
« on: 30 November 2008, 16:48:32 »

Well what can I say about this one then................................

Usual suspects (well it was us that was interested) So we started off with my car this time (Mike's bonnet wasn't up this time) and decided to change the plenum, from the short one to the long one. So off came the plenum and the injector rail as a replacement hose had to be put on due to the longer plenum. Anyway that was changed so the injector rail was refitted, then the longer plenum was fitted. Once this was finished it was time to start the car................... the revs were just over 2000 rpm which decreased to 1100 rpm once it had warmed up. After a fiddle here and a fiddle there we got it down to 750-800 rpm so I took it for a spin. The car was more responsive but putting my foot flat to the floor something happened............... nothing thats what happened  :-[ absolutly bloody nothing, because more air was being sucked in the engine couldn't cope with it so it just took a nose dive as if the fuel system was blocked.
Anyway after that we decided to put the original plenum back on so the car was back to normal. I must admit with the longer plenum on it did look nice but it came off  :'(.

So what did we find out about this project? Well we found out that yes a longer plenum would fit and looks better BUT doesn't work very well so it cant be done as an upgrade  :'(.

The hospitality that was given by M1ct and Robseymv6 was great. Thankyou Marti and Rob.
Hope we can do this again but lets get xmas out of the way first.

How many men do you need to change the plenum?
Answer=> 4!!

Tom hard at it, playing with his miggy in the rain...

When my cat disappeared (went outside),
and some burgers were served shortly after that,
Tom had some doubts considering the meat (unlike Mike).. haha
