lowered
« on: 05 February 2009, 19:10:27 »

I finaly got my new springs fitted last night
the garage i got it done at brought the car back at 9.30 last night (mega busy place)

I am very pleased with the results  pi springs -40mm  on standard shocks
it has firmed the suspension up a bit and it no longer behaves like a north sea ferry in a force 9 gale but still retains a  good level of comfort

have a look

Now then, I have tried lowering springs before on my trackday Omega and it was bloody aweful, sawing about, pitching front to rear, knocking, banging, bone shacker ride and generally feeling like poo. These were cheap GMax springs....  but it put me off. What are the best in terms of lowered, but remaining comfortable and firmer handling?

Cheers,

Mart

just so you know  I have spinal problem  and live in pain due in part to failed surgery so a crashy ride is not something i could live with.

i said already it is firmer but its not that hard that it transfersthe shock of  every stone you drive over up your back.

i imagine it to be what the mv6 set up would be like firmer and with much less body roll but not a bone shaker.
in my omega my moobs dont bounce up and down with the springs fitted  so it cant be bad   ;)

Beware, a 40mm drop is more than a standard shock can effectively tolerate.

I lowered my last car 60mm on standard springs.
A v6 vectra, had the car 18 months, not one problem with the springs.
Looooking goooooooood...
So if those are your winter wheels, what are your summer wheels??
