Crank sensor going to die....
« on: 20 July 2007, 09:52:46 »

Well I have had code 19 stored for a little while now (3 months ish!) and twice now I have had difficulty starting the poor thing (turning over fine not trying to catch) both times when I was trying to get to pick the little one up from nursery! Left it 5 mins tried again and it caught!

All my own fault! had the warning signs, knew it needs doing, not got round to it yet! will be ordering one today! only thing is the one thats on there is one I replaced just over a year ago and is routed well away frm the oil pipes etc (routed near abs module). So is it worth just getting another ebay one (or 2!!!) or should I go for a rip off Vx one i.e will a Vx one last longer???

the replacement, how did you fit. The cable needs to be away from heat sources (exhaust, oil pipes etc)

Does seem to have died prematurely then. Plenty of slack I presume, so that engine vibration doesn't stress the cable?

I'd say you were just unlucky.

You say 'another ebay one', so I take it the one on the car is a cheap one?
