Insurance - P1ssed off!
« on: 19 July 2007, 15:25:26 »

Just changed my policy, to the VeccyB.

First of all, NO REDUCTION, from a 3.0 V6 Omega, to a 1.8 16v Veccy.

Secondly, they gave me a grilling about why I change my cars so often and wanted to know if I'm in the motor trade.  Told me this is the last change of vehicle I can have for the forseeable future.

Thirdly, they WONT LET ME put my Omega Alloys on - not even for more money, they simply will not let me modify the car in any way, to include some standard VX alloys. idiots, I'm really upset, having spent £220 on the tyres  :'( :'( :'( :'(

I think, Directline and I will be parting company when this expires - shame, been with em 6 years....

Who wants to buy some Elite alloys with new tyres then  >:(

Oh, and despite me telling the tit until I was blue in the face that it's a FACTORY STANDARD Gas conversion, he kept asking for the certificate of conformity from the LPGA approved installer.

Scripts or what.

He was flatly refusing to insure it, until I insisted on speaking to underwriting and gave them what for.

I'm going out for a pint.

James Change Insurance company

Mine never asked for a LPG certificate. And I was honest unlike the Guy who owned the car before me never told his he just classed it as a Petrol

Your V5 should also say its LPG as it was factory fitted

If you change you will see your insurance drop no way is a 3.0 elite group 17 the same insurance as a 1.8 duel fuel veccy the totaly dumb arses.

I am going to be putting a formal complaint into writing.

It says dual fuel on the V5...

Insurance Ombudsman - they have no right to dictate how, why or when you change your car. Theres no additional risk to them.  :y

Directline and I fell out some while back ... I'm now with a company called Its4me ... do a google ... underwritten by Fortis ( a very large and well known underwriting group) and I'm very pleased with them.

When a very stupid young lady failed to notice that the lights were RED and that was in all probabliity why I was stopped, and she decided not to .. so doing a large amount of damage to the front of her clit with the towbar on the miggy .... and I got a new bumber and a boot respray... they were great .. all arranged by phone, courtesy car, and sorted in 2 weeks.

With Insurance you don't know how good they are until you have to claim ... my experience with its4me/fortis so far has been very good.....   and no .. I am not linked to them in any way this is a genuine recommendation not a sales pitch !!  :)

I'm currently with e-sure - about £550 a year (4yr N/C protected) for the MV6. They added £20 to the policy when i got different alloys...no big deal, at least they WILL insure a 'modified vehicle'.
