My Elite's "de-walnuting"....
« on: 25 April 2009, 15:44:13 »

Over the easter break there i attempted some DIY spraying for the first time.

The car originally came with an MV6 silver centre console trim but i though it looked really cheap and plastiky so i bought another walnut trim on ebay for £20. Rubbed it down and sprayed it a dark metallic silver....was very happy with the outcome but fitting it wasnt the most phone.
The door trims are almost melted into the doors and i was considering to leave them walnut...but it looked so crap so i set about removing the door cards and drilling out the trims. I have to say, the door card removal guide on here was invaluable!! Sprayed and refitted and it looks so much better!

Very happy with the results and i think youll have to agree its much nicer on the eyes than walnut lol!!

i also got a new door for the cd autochanger as my mate broke it on the night i bought it lol! got it for free off a kind individual on here (ta mark!)

I got to admit..............that looks really good, did you spray any clear coat to stop any scratch marks happening, i also like the carbon fibre on the tray, is it carbon fibre, it looks like it, or is it anti slip mat

Looks tops :y :y :y :y well done mate. got me thinking now, what colour was the spray??

its only slightly darker than MV6 trim but its metallic paint so it gives it more aluminium look than silver plastic!

was tempted by colour coding with the exterior paint colour but im glad i chose not to now!!
