Took me 3 hours to do my normal 1/2 hour trip home this afternoon.. exhausting. :(

Apparently had a land slide on the M4 :o

Both garage and greenhouse (which is a lean to on the house) floors were under water.  Soakaways just couldn't cope.

Ive just come in...been out all day.

It was raining when i started work at 7.45am and continued to rain all day.....most of Swindon is flooded...lots of roads closed....most of the roads are grid locked.....even now.

On my way home i went through a lake very slowly but i could still hear the water lapping on the sills  :o

Throughout the day the omega has been through some very deep water......but she carried on going  :)

At one junction out in the sticks i had to stop right in the middle of a lake......to let other cars (their right of way) go......i could hear a bubbling noise......i reckon the zorst tailpipe was partly under water  :o Now that is deep water!!

Only prob i had was with oncoming 4x4 muppets driving through lakes fast......creating big waves  >:(
One idiot i saw was creating a bow wave that was upto his headlights...i was praying he had a low air intake....and would come to a grinding halt!

It showed part of the M4 on the evening news this evening, just most of the outside lane that wasn't in deep water. :o

It took Mrs TheBoy 2hrs to get home, normally a 30min journey.

M40 shut, A43 shut, backroads either flooded or chocca, or both....

Glad I didn;t bother going in today ::)

Yeah, the to$$ers amongst the 4x4 owners really stand out on days like this. The other 364 days of the year they have to put up with driving an agricultural, cumbersome P.O.S, though, so I don't get jealous.    ;D

I would have really liked my parents' 4x4 today! (Seriously, I'm tempted to import it or one like it.  Would be bloody useful around here!  Yeah, LHD, but a LOT cheaper than most things around here - bar the Omega of course!)

Strangely, biggest bow wake I saw today was off an S-reg Polo going upstream.  My bow wake almost took down a streetname sign :o  I was really worried about getting stuck!  :-/

Saw a stricken V6 Omega in Frimley Green today. Not an OOF'er, I hope. Looked nasty.  :(

If I'd had some OOF flyers in my glovebox I would have handed one out, as the recovery truck guy was just looking bemused at the engine.
