my 3.0 Facelift Elite
« on: 10 June 2010, 13:47:51 »

i picked this up dirt cheap, so thought i would start getting her up to a reasonable standard similar to my old one!

has a autobox issue which is beign sorted while im on holiday! usual rocker cover gasket oil leak, missing wing mirror and the stereo is missing the security panel and a broken glove box!

other than that she is all ok and runs very nice and smooth!

plans are:

Lower
rear spacers
refurb alloys satin black with a nice trim detail
tinted windows
lots of stereo, inc dvd player and screens
lots of tidying up
then just general service and keep her tip top!

when i picked it up very dirty!

quick bath and clay, it was actually metallic green underneath!

very dirty engine bay which i just put a bit of elbow grease into, will respray the plenum when i do the rocker gaskets
before:

after:

what you think? the leatehr interior needs a good session too to bring it back up!

It left VX as a 3. Wonder if it's had an engine swap.

Interesting! Cheers for that! I don't see reason why they would changethr plenum? Feels smoother and torquier that my 2.5, think I better see what's stamped on the block!!

i may be wrong but is it not the 2.6 and 3.2 that had the longer plenum due to drive by wire etc.

the 2.5 and 3.0 were mech throttle and had the smaller plenum.

as i say could be wrong but that was my understanding.

rich.  :)

Strange! Logbook says 3.0, but I will wait till I get under see what's stamped on the block,

Do the 2.5 and 3.0 use same autobox?

2.5 - AR25
3.0 - AR35

Was thinking if mine left factory as a 3.0 then someone put a 2.5 in, maybe that's what's causing my autobox problem??
