Hi chaps,
Having been very busy over the past few months I can now officially say I am ready to sell on my pride and joy. It’s been off the road for a while as I now have an Audi.
While it was off the road I replaced the crank oil seal and also both cam covers, and following advice on this forum I made sure I used GM parts all the way.
Since resolving the oil leak I am now confident that once sold on I can be sure she’ll give a few years trouble free motoring.
Here are the details:
Nov 2002 on a 52 plate
2.6 LPG Manual Saloon in Silver.
99k Miles
80Ltr tank behind the rear seats, re-enforced mounting which exceed the LPGA specification. Fully sequential injection system with custom injector mounts. LPGA certificate included.
Bodywork – Pretty good and polishes up quite well, obviously it’s a 7 year old car so there are a few marks here and there, but by no means tatty looking. One of the rear arches is in the early stages of rusting but only visible if you have a really good look.
Engine – very good and quiet, however I do get a very light rattle noise, which I can categorically say is a cam follower on the passenger bank. It only surfaces every now and then and is hardly noticeable. Once is above 1000RPM the noise disappears. No mayo in filler cap and smooth idle, no other rattle or clunking noises!!
Wheels (Elite) – Very good, no obvious corrosion and wrapped in Continental 3’s, front have 6 months left, rears a year or more, hardly any wear.
I dropped this into Sadmag a few weeks ago for £2000 but nobody was interested, so now i will accept offers very close to £1500. I forget this is a big car which will scare most people off and i would think as it's modified with LPG would scare Mr Ford and Mrs Vectra off!
I forget what the book price in on this car, but I am sure £1500 for a LPG V6 is a good buy, not forgetting all the work I have carried out, something I see most of you chaps doing after buying!!
PS: GM Cambelt was fitted at 78k.
Regards
