F/S 2001 omega estate elite 3.2
« on: 24 December 2009, 23:00:13 »

Here we have my Omega 3.2 v6 estate that I have decided to sell because I am currently posted in Germany and would have to register it over there, The thing is im only posted in Germany for another 3 to 4 months and cant justify the costs when I already have another car registered. The truth is I really dont want to sell it but unless i win the lottery its just not cost affective (as new LHD headlights are required and winter tyres along with some additional testing). I can honestly say if i was posted to england earlier or staying in germany longer i would keep it.

I bought this car off ebay myself mid oct. The guy put it through its mot and it flew through (one advisory). since then i have covered about 1500 miles in it, It has been faultless. The only thing ive had to do is TAX it and put washer fluid in it.

She is fully loaded with all the usual refinements, xenon lights, cruise control, full leather etc etc. The Elite is the top of the range model so is fully kitted. Engine wise its fantastic over 200bhp so goes like the clappers and on the autobahn would sit at 150mph all day long.

As with all cars this age there are a couple of minor faults but nothing serious.

There is one minor rust bubble on the boot just under the rear wiper. The satnav spits out the disc saying "insert a nav cd" every now and again, i think the lense needs a clean! The leather on the rear of the drivers seat, on the holder thing, has a tear in it and there is wear on the driver and passengers seats but this is very little.

Overall bodywork is great for the year but there are the odd (minor) bits here and there, the only two ive really noticed are the minor dent on the boot(pictured) and a scratch on the rear passenger door. I feel these things need mentioning as I would not like anyone having an unpleasant surprise.

The good points are endless but include recent cam belt and pulleys. Air con/climate fully WORK!!! unlike most. Tested until 1st november next year and taxed till april I think. No known electrical faults and is quiet, fast and smooth to drive. Gear box is extremely smooth and all the power seats work.

A good service history with mot's dated back till 2007, and a fair amount of receipts (Mainly Vauxhall), full vauxhall service history.

cambelt was changed at 80000 and isnt due 120000.

This is an honest car, you could get in it tomorrow and drive to germany and back with absolutely no drama at all (I know because i have done it). All in all its an awesome car that will do someone very nicely indeed.

any inspection is welcome

ALSO it comes with a private plate  P20 SUT

Asking price is £1800

Is also advertised on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230415079325&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

Any questions will be answered ASAP, Viewing is possible, The car is located near Rochdale UK.

my first post. yes,car looks well and i see you rattled 50 posts off to get it on sale! i am looking for an elite preferably with leather and i am on this forum so i know what to look out for regarding maintenance/faults etc. i am mechanically minded and have done my reading, as you have only done 1300 miles its the previous history i would like to know about and what work the invoices are for.is it on 4 matching tyres and are they a quality make//cats ever been replaced/rear bushes/spark plugs/oil changed regulary and what spec/auto gearbox fluids and filters changed etc. etc. what was the advisory on the last mot. you state the mot certs go back to 2007 so are 04 05 06 not present?. did they change the water pump when the cambelt was done? i am looking for reassurance the car has a solid verifiable history/mileage with no unexplained gaps.

Hmmm... Really tempting. It's a bit older than I'm after and isn't Colour Nav (but that can be sorted ;))... Give me a couple of days to think about it as I'd have to get the dings and rust sorted :-/ :-/ :-/

I would be very tempted, as I am after a 3.2 elite estate, sadly the mileage is too high for what I am after.  Had it have been half the current mileage then would have been different.

All the best with the sale.  :y

the tyres are all pirelli pzeros, doesnt look like the cats have been replaced but it has had a new exhaust, rear shocks and wheel bearings havve been done, i dont know what spec the oils are but tey have always been done at vauxhall.
the other mot certificates arenot there but the paperwork from vauxhall saying that they were done are. theadvisory was one tyer close to legal limit.
i personally think that the service history is prety good. i have had cars with a lot lot worse!!
it hasnt give me any problems since i bought it, i think if it was going to give any at all then it would have definatliy been in the miles i have covered.

IMO its extremelly well priced for a fairly rare estate, if it had half the miles on it, I'm sure it would be going for over £3k if not more. Its looks a very nice car, and represents excellent value for money. 100k in these is nothing, with decent history.
Good luck with the sale, first genuine viewer (as long as described accuratly) will snip it off your hands  :y

Dont mind paying more money for the right car.

Just want to get one that is an elite estae 3.2, full monty on all the toys with colour sat nav and leather.

This one is a nice colour, other 2 choices for me would be silver or nocerno blue (not sure on the spelling for this colour)

As I say, no rush at all, and cash waiting for when I am ready or if the right car comes up for sale.

Still really tempted ::) ::) ::) :-/ :-/ :-/

Only things that put me off are the age (as I'm really after a 2003), the lack of colour screen and no Pikey hook!!

Hmmm... What a dilemma! Trouble is, it's too far away for me to go and look  :( :(

Just out of interest... When the shocks were replaced, were they Self Levellers?

Just a thought here, and I'm seriously considering this one, why not take it off the road for the few months you're away and then you'll still have it when you get back :-? :-?
