Thanks to Sassanach
« on: 29 July 2007, 22:43:05 »

Thanks to Sassanach for spending his afternoon and evening showing me the inside of my AR25, and for 'helping' (ie doing it whilst I just handed tools to him) me fit an AR35 to the tractor.

On the last gearbox change, Laidback66, JamesV6CDX, Tunnie and I spent all day swappign box over. Sassanach made it look so easy, but having a 2 post lift, and hydraulic platform to raise and lower box from made it childs play.

Thanks :y  :y

Did you re-build the AR35 first.....what state was it in, just the usual knackered thrust waher?

This was my old AR35 mark, the one you looked at.....

Did it not go into limp mode, or did you swap the solenoids?

yup, ran out of time, so had to take easy option, so fitted sassanach's old ar35 from Elite now with bumble bee, and left him james' (looks like thrust washer judging by play) and my old ar25 from ronnie's lazy bastard mate. Should be able to make one good one out of those 2, and all the other ones he has lying around!

We stripped the ar25, but couldn't find much wrong, other than it had burned its oil to a horrible black (500 miles?). Slight lateral play in 1st/2nd/3rd part - maybe that 2nd plastic washer??
