Sounds about right for a dealer price. Is it my imagination or does the suspension at the rear look a bit high :-/

I paid £7k for my 2.2 CD 2001 three years ago. This is 2 years newer, has leather, 2.6V6 and a CDX. And 12 months warranty.

If I had £6.5k burning a hole in my pocket I would buy it tomorrow.

What do you think it would be like for towing the caravan, I have heard so many stories about auto gearboxes not being able to cope, overheating etc whilst towing, would it need an extra cooler on there or is the one fitted sufficiant.

I tow my 5 berth van with the 2.2 with no problems at all. Most of my towing is on the roads around Cornwall so no easy motorway cruising.

The auto is fantastic, as usual, when you're in traffic. The only time I towed with a manual was when I borrowed a Renault Espace to collect the van from Exeter. The A30 was a nightmare that day and I could really feel the clutch heating up after 20 mins of stop start queuing. I never get overheating in the Omega.

In my opinion, the auto is far superior to a manual for towing, smooth changes and stress free driving.

Go for it. :) :)

Be interesting to see what he offers for mine in part ex, I have been looking for a while now and I am in a tither on what to do, my miggy has been a trouble free car, diesel, good on fuel, i have fitted many extras on her as she is only a GLS, I just fancy a bit more power and leather.

I suppose i need to drive the CDX and go from there

It would make a great tow car - auto box on a 2.6 would be a dream  :)

Only downside of Bose system is amount of room it takes in boot.  It doesn't look like much, until you go to fill the boot....
