It's not on the glass but more like it has melted the plastic.  It has ruined the outer surface and is more like when you spill superglue on soft plastic - chemical reaction  :(

as they have now been sold :-?

'dangle berries' NO - I wonder if it was a sneaky OOFer though.  Just as well they are not for my car  ;)
