LPG issues
« on: 04 August 2007, 20:01:12 »

Occasionally, but not often, Veccy is flicking itself back onto petrol, often when stopping. Rev it hard, and it goes back onto gas, but as soon as revs drop, back to petrol.

Has only done it a couple of times - is it a sign of a problem I can nip in the bud? Gas filter?

My VeccyC used to do that too......i thought it was fairly normal for them to do that.

However since vx checked the lpg pressure (didnt need adjusting) and reset the lpg ecu (so it reloaded default values), the veccyC has been behaving itself.

Trip to stealer maybe in order.....but if you do....take it to the one in Bath....they seem to be very good on lpg problems  :y

Dont think it will be the lpg filter.....if it was getting blocked you would struggle with loss of power.
I replaced the one on the veccyC.....it made kack all difference and cost me £60  :o Yes they're blooming expensive, lpg parts from vx!

Worth getting the pressures checked and lpg ecu reset tho  :y

Bugger....

... On a different note - would you say there are "good and bad" types of LPG, Eg some people prefer optimax fuelt to ASDA...

There as certainly differences between them.....my Omega was setup on Countrywide lpg.....if i shove BP lpg in it.....it puts the emissions light on.....it goes out again after a few tanks of countrywide.

Tho if it had been setup on BP lpg....would it be ok on this and get upset with countrywide lpg  :-/

I dont know if different oil comps add different additives  :-/ as happens with petrol

Sometimes it is possible to get a bad tank of lpg.....you would know....engine would run like a bag of spanners.....tho very rarely ....and reseller would have probably been alerted by previous drivers and closed the pump down anyway.
