CDX
« on: 07 August 2007, 18:26:25 »

Well, after long debate with Lady Miggy, and listening to what you guys said about it, I am going to Sandhurst on Thursday afternoon to look at this.

http://users.autoexposure.co.uk/classicdd.cfm?Account=AETA40921&VehicleID=AETV95414059&Photo=http://users.autoexposure.co.uk/is/autoedit/AETA40921/AETV95414059_1a.jpg

I have been undecided on what to do, I initially wanted the 3.2 Elite, 53 model but his prices are to high, 9k on some occassions, I have looked at others cheaper private sales but not prepaired to take a chance on private.

The guy selling the CDX is giving a 12 month warrenty with a new service and cam belt change, there is an option of extending the warrenty, at a cost, it seems a good car from the pictures so I am going to take a drive, he said over the phone if my miggy is what I say it is he would look at giving me a descent price.

Let see on Thursday.

Nice motor Loo-Knee thanks for the lead but I am going to stick with a dealer, get some warranty, I know it will cost me more from a dealer.
Thanks Mate.

I was about to post that one too, 49k, 2002, the full irmscher kit with sportstars

its only 5 miles from me and at £6,000 its not unreasonable, he says full history, is it not tempting enough?

i'm sure it's the one i mentioned seeing in bolton, going off that number plate. looks too familiar!!

Looking good is one thing but 6k of hard earned money, it needs to go good also, I have been stung once before buying private, got the cash refunded after several months of small claim courts, at least with the sandhurst dealer I would be getting warrenty, plus it may have service history but how has it been driven by previous owners, foot flat no doubt.

It is a stunning car though.

I would prefer not to buy from a dealers anyway....

First thing being they have loaded the price Massively.. I know a guy who works selling cars, if they are selling a car for say £6000 they got it for £4000-£4500, that to me would be at least £1500 to go in your arse pocket in case something goes wrong with the privately bought car..

Secondly the warranty, how often have you bought something and it has gone wrong when the warranty as actually run out? Plus someone with money have had these cars.. and you can tell when they have been looked after or not..

I can see your thinking if you have been stung before, but not everyone are Dick Turpin :y

true, i got mine from a dealer, at private sale price, he knocked £400 off because he needed the space, and i got no warranty, and had no problems that a warranty would have made much difference to!
