Saw a car crash twice today!
« on: 10 August 2007, 15:08:32 »

Not had such a laugh for ages. I was coming down a steep hill in a local village when a young woman came round the corner looking at something across the way and veered off the road into a pile of empty wooden pallets as she left the road going uphill. She presumably dipped the clutch at which the car (peugeot 206) rolled backwards quite quickly across the grass and a very deep and quite wide ditch, then bounced up onto the main road and across before coming to a halt an inch from a wall.

The only damage apart from her pride was one of the plastic inner wheel arches came off. Her reaction? She got out of the car and rang someone on her mobile.

fantastic stuff , if only I had had a video camera!

love it, no sympathy!

shouldn't let yourself be distracted by something out of your proper driving line of sight, otherwise thats what happens!

it happened to me nearly 2 years ago.. i've learned!

I saw a funny one the day before yesterday....

A porsche 911 (S Reg) came right up my arse, trying to bully me out of the way, i was doing 85 at the time and overtaking lorries... So he waited for me to overtake the first, then nipped on inside lane undertook me then out again, nearly hitting the rear of the lorry in front and the fron of my car, we proceeded to weave in and out of traffic, till he made his error.
Took the next one, about 4 cars in front of me, a bit to sharp and hit the barrier in the middle, this made him veer off to the left, spin round and onto the grass verge facing the wrong way....

What a pratt, heard a few drivers shouting TW@ and laughing at him as they drove past, he got the finger from me, he did not look happy....
 ;D ;D ;D

going on a work night out i was in a minibus on the motorway when an E reg celica GT passed us at about 100, on a slight bend but enough to force his back end out, he bounced off the central reserve and spun several times across the lanes before settling on the hard shoulder, again facing the wrong way!

minibus driver decided to pull over and offer help, while we all looked on, laffing!

Not long been driving, and I was following one of those crappy Skodas (Estelle?) down the M11 is awful weather. Outside lane was horrible due to the snowfall. Still, the Skoda and I went to overtake an ambulance doing about 20mph (I was doing about 30mph, the Skoda perhaps slightly more), when all of a sudden, the Skoda span, hit the central reservation, ended up facing the right way, and just carried on  :o.

Me, I backed off and followed the ambulance....

drunk driver!

With a Skoda Estelle to enjoy I'd probably be tempted by a swift couple before each journey to numb the pain  ;D
