Its either Ron Weesleys Owl, wot bring the mail or it's a short eared owl.


Unlike the other indigenous British Isles owls, the short-eared owl is primarily a bird of the open country, and spends long periods away from trees and bushes, and nests, nearly always, on the ground. It has been known by such names as Brown Yogle, Cat Owl, Day Owl, Fern Owl, Grey (Gray) Hullet, Grey (Gray) Yogle, Hawk Owl, March Owl, Marsh Owl, Moor Owl, Mouse Hawk, Pilot Owl, Red Owl, Sea Owl, Short-horned Howlet, Short-horned Owl and woodcock Owl.

:)I was gonna say eagle owl. I'ved loved Owls since i was a kid and still think they're "rock hard". I know it's a bit girlie but i've still got some ornamentals dotted round the house 'cos my Mum sends me them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whilst on the subject of owls has anyone heard the radio advert for the RAC where someones broken down at night? the ad has the sound of an owls wings beating ( it actually sounds like a pigeon)even though the owl is silent in flight.
Someone at the ad agency obviously didn't do their homework
