Thanks guys, it's nice to be missed although I've never been very far away!!
Yes I'm still grieving.

Tell you what though, having recently been on holiday in the 'Funtractor', I'm missing the mile eating virtues of the Omega. I got to thinking on the drive up the M6 on Friday night that what I could really use for family holidays, (flying's not really an option to visit the 'out-laws' any more as there's four of us now!), is another Omega estate, but the thing that really bugged me about them is the lack of rear legroom.
I'm thinking a V6 or TD Elite estate with about a foot or so stretch in the middle would be ideal. Hmmm, might be a while to come to fruition as my yard and garage is now filled up with these.....................

Sorry if I've bored you with all this already, but..........
The singed <sp?> one is an ex-works rally car, previously owned and campaigned by Austin McHale but sadly subject to an arson attack recently. Interesting history with it. The engine in it is a group 'A' spec 30NE engine from Tony Lanfranchi's, (RIP), ex-touring car that develops over 250 BHP. The suspension is all bespoke and the shell is all seam welded. It has a fancy bias controlled braking system and handbrake I even have it's homologation papers albeit partly burned. It's actually in much better condition than the silver one and I'm now wishing I hadn't sold it to someone else, but them's the breaks.
The plan is to strip all the good bits from the 'brown' one and install them in the silver one once the shell's been welded back together again. The shell's destined to go to someone who has some interesting plans for it.
The silver one will be seen at a racing circuit near me in due course!! 8-)
