I had a decent drive yesterday, dropped Junior off with Grandparents, that, coupled with SWMBO nodding off on the way back, meant the MV6 got a boot down the a9 and through central Scotland for 100 or so miles. And boy did it get caned  

I am still amazed at how these things pull.

Specifically, crusing at 60-70-80mph steady, sports button on, engine note changed, and flooored. That acceleration from 70ish to err 80ish is really rapid..

I havent had a previous car that has accelerated in this range as the 3.0 does and ive had several hot hatches and a few BIG BMW`s. Chopped up and spat out an Impreza and a few big Volvos yesterday at this range...

I cant think of a car in sensible guiese / sensible price that can out run the Omegas Legs at this speed....

Anyone know of better?

Yes, but it's noisier, smaller and a lot less comfortable (and, actually, if I'm honest, starting to run out of puff by the time you approach 3 figures due to cr@p aerodynamics. Maybe I should stop being a girl and remove the windscreen?). Fuel consumption is not as bad though.

The 3.0 when running right does go. But the emphasis has to be on the 'when running' bit!

Try that against my new T5 and you will be looking rather foolish!

Yeah, they go surprisingly well.  I was in an E36 M3 Evo a couple weeks ago and it wasn't much if any faster.  I want a project car for alongside the miggy, but it is hard to find something faster of a similar age and price!

I've always wondered about traction on the 2wd T5. Drove a 4wd one once and it didn't appear to be a problem Stepped sideways a bit if you hoofed it out of a roundabout but otherwise it was pretty firmly planted and very quick.

I know what you mean about performance. My mate has a celica gt4 and its not standard, we were driving the other day and i could keep with him no trouble in my mv6. i could see the shock on his face as he was overtaken by a big heavy vauxhall. He said tht the enigine sounds awesome from the outside when i went past!!!! I am going to seriously miss this car
