« on: 11 August 2007, 05:35:50 »

Just created an account and logged in to say hi.  ;)
Car is a black 2.2CD Auto Saloon (2002) - best car I've ever had, of course. I look forward to sharing on the sight (already picked up a couple of tips).

As a welcome present - for anyone who fancies doing their own diagnostics - I use an interface called an 'ELM' module. It connects a PC/Laptop to the diagnostic socket via USB port - costs around £100, works on almost any car since 2001 (and some before) and is a fantastic tool that has saved me hundreds in the last year on diagnosing/resetting EML on my mega, wife's rover and several friends cars. If anyone wants firther details see - http://www.enginecheck.co.uk/index.php

See  y'all around soon (I may even post a car pic later!)

Tom.

Welcome to the site :)

ELM chips - the low cost software tends to be engine only.  For Vauxhalls, obviously nothing beats the real Tech2, but obviously the cost is prohibitive.  Opelscan seems to be a good compromise at around £200. Or cheapo tech2, around £30, though the software is buggy.
