hummm not sure on that one.

1) Its pictured in a workshop

2) They know whats wrong with it, and supplying the part to fix it?

3) Why don't they fix it themselves!

4) I think they stripped down and found bigger damage.

I'd budget for a replacement engine....

Good observations.

My thoughts were, possibly they had a go, got scared by the big mean V6 , and decided to cut their losses.

Whatever the case - bear in mind I have an absolutely sweet engine sat in my Elite I've broken up... would take no time at all to change the blocks over...

It may well be in a workshop, but that is no mechanical workshop....  ;)
They think they knew what was wrong... HG at just over 100k? I suspect something rather more common.

I suspect they decided to have a go and realised they were out of their depth.

Come on LB, note the car in mid air  ;)

I recently bought a 3ltr which said HGF - it wasnt bad but the sniffer test confirmed it.....
Also the head gaskets on the V6 seperate from the bits round the bores from the rest of it come 100k.

I don't think it's as uncommon as people think.  :y

Only if poorly maintained i.e. no 50;50 antifreeze mix.

And lets be honets, if its poorly maintained, you dont want it anyway!
