Not yet.  Cambelt, waterpump and aux belt in the boot waiting for a day of insperation sometime next week.

Had to to the exhaust first as both sections were rubber ducked where they went in to the back box and it was in danger of falling onto the road, what with the ammount of speedhumps round my way.

Did you not hear the 'throaty rasp' as I drove off last week??    ;D   ;D

Now you mention it.... ;D

Did the waterpump shut up for good?

It certainly had far too much play...

Pump is quiet but still loads of free play.

Will get changed next week sometime.  Will give Rob a shout and take him up on his kind offer of another pair of eyes to watch over me.  Probably will need them as the new belt does not have timing marks on it......   :'(

In my expereience, with tensioner backed right off, keep a tooth of slack between tensioner and crank.. and keep it tight between cam4 and the lower idler..

Is the lower idler adjustable?

Dave...

I've got 2 jobs lined up, then you're next in line ;)

Is there any problems over how long it's off the road for? Or can you Taxi with the VeccyC?

Cheers James.... :)

VeccyC is out.....it runs out of 'private hire plate' next tuesday.....its up for sale and i dont intend to get it replated by the council......thats costs £140....

I can live with the Omega being off the road for a couple days.....dont think it will take longer than that will it?

If i can time it right and your available......my plan is.....get the head off in the morning....then with prior arrangement with local engineering shop (which ive heard is very amicable) turn up with the head lunchtimeish.....let them do the business while we wait and then refit in the afternoon.....or finish it up the next day if we run outa time.....

How does that sound? Its a cunning plan that might work  :-/
