Newby wanting MV6 advice
« on: 24 September 2007, 14:05:36 »

Great site! Stumbled across it as I'm looking to shift one of my motors. Need some advice mind. Got a '99 T plate MV6 3.0 auto. All the toys are there and working (minus the CD interchanger) the gearbox is awesome but she's misfiring. From start up, 30 to 50 range, 50 to 70 it matters not. There's something that doesn't give you instant power. I'm sticking with my facelifted 2.2 auto but what can I expect to get for the MV6? I just don't have the money to put her right. 10 months MOT taxed til end of year, part service history with 131 k on clock. Any suggestions? Cheers! Martin

sounds like either rocker gaskets or dis pack. Have you checked if the plug lead ends looked dipped in oil?

welcome to the site, best asking in the relevant section for more of an audience ( dont worry an admin will move this shortly  :y)

May well be rockers - if you pull out an ignition lead check for oil in spark wells, outwith the plug wells ensure breathers are 101% clean and cleaned again. Still missing.....may then be dispack and or ignition leads.

Suggest you re-post your problem in the 'General Help' section, you will get better responses from there.

Welcome :)

As others have said, worth posting techie Q under 'Omega Help' section :)

Also, as has been suggested, check plug wells for oil.
