Hi from sunny South Wales :)
« on: 25 January 2008, 08:36:44 »

Hi guys

I hope you'll excuse my first post sounding like a sales pitch! I really don't mean it to sound that way. A member of this forum asked me to post here

Please do delete this post if it's considered out of order, I do understand

Since being a kid I've had a passion for cars and now at the ripe old age of 54 I've not changed! Two years ago I bought my most radical car to date - an Ariel Atom. I can't even use the excuse of mid life crisis as I'm well passed that.

Anyway, about the same time my partner and I started producing embroidered clothing for the Ariel Atom Owner's Club and it proved to be quite a hit with the members. It also provided a good income stream for the club too.

Since then, I've also produced designs for other clubs and circuits. I love doing it as it's an extension of my passion for cars.

Now I'm not sure if the Omega Owners Club has a logo or any merchandice, or indeed whether there's a need for such stuff?

Just to give you a taster, here's a few of the designs I've produced recently.

I also produce other designs - not car related :) The horse is embroidered too.

If you think I can help in anyway, please do let me know.

I sincerely hope I haven't caused any annoyance to anyone by posting this message, if so, please delete it.

Regards

John & Angie

Forgot to mention, this is a hobby just now as we both work full time though I'd love my partner Angie to give up her crappy job at M&S on slave wages to do this full time. I meanwhile work for the police - yikes!! :)

Any idea on costs, as a guide.  We have not artwork except logo on the site.  And what minimum quantities?

I'm in work just now but this is from memory!

Minimum orders are 1 :) and we'll create the patterns free of charge, working with you until
it's right.

Polo shirts £15.99
T shirts £11.99
Sweat shirts £16.99
Rugby shirts £17.99
Fleece hats £9.99
Hoodies!! £17.99

These prices include the embroidery but exclude p&p which is charged at cost.

We use best quality clothing but if you have a requirement for cheaper items for shows or short duration causes, we can use lesser quality clothing. The saving isn't that great though.

Cheers

John

Thanks for the replies guys.

Firstly the logo at the op right is not suitable for emroidery - the text is okay but one can't reproduce pictures in embroidery.

Perhaps a good idea, particularly if the forum is active, would be to have a little competition to design a logo. It can be a bit of fun and I've seen some great ideas on other forums.

Personally, I like the simple logos not because they're easie for me to do but they are usually clever - if you know what I mean.

Yes, the Atom is a scream. I've had mine for over 2 years now and I still get great excitement out of it.

Cheers

I invite you to start a thread in General Chat asking for a design (laying out what is and is not possibly) for such items.  Whether or not we chose to change the forum logo to match it will be a decision to be made later :y

As you say, a bit of fun.  We did run one a while ago, though seems we dont have too many designers here  :-X

Here's a link to the message I was invited to post in the General section.

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1201261925

These are a few more I did when we went to Le Mans

I also create for other than car stuff

The horse on the T shirt is embroidered too.

So you can see, I love doing these and work hard to get it right. I love it when people get their shirt and love 'em.

Howdoo, and welcome to the forum.

You do tidy work, looks really good.  I would hope that someone will come up with a suitable sharp logo that we could use....

Moved your comp thread to genchat, by the way, rather than in the techy part of the forum....   :y

Hi john and welcome. you got some great designs there. What about something simple to start, say on a T-shirt . The logo itself would do
WWW.OMEGAOWNERS.COM or OMEGA OWNERS FORUM or even
O.O.F.
i'd buy a few no probs
