Possible new owner
« on: 14 October 2008, 20:57:51 »

Hi guys - loving the forum!

I'm not an Omega owner yet but hopefully will be soon as I need a decent car for less than £500 to enter into the Scumball3000 rally next year.  It's a charity rally over 5 days and we'll cover 3000km so need something big, comfortable and powerful!  An Omega seems like the perfect car  :y

If anyone in the Sussex area has a reliable (preferably 3.0 V6) that's under £500 please let me know.

Cheers

Gaz

Hi Gaz. I used to live in Sx. You might find a 2.5 is as capable as a 3.0, nearly as quick, plenty more to choose from & probably cheaper.
I recently sold my 2.5 to Kate (one of our members) for considerably less than £500. 102k & sailed through her MOT. I doubt very much any of us could get Kate to part with her but given what you want, although i love my 3.0 MV6 i'd suggest a 2.5 manual for overall "GO" & mpg, make sure the cambelt is'nt due, find the lowest mileage one you can, drain & change all fluids & filters....

You should be happily mile munching but we want piccies!!! 8-)
