First job of the day. Fixing the leaking cam cover (passenger side of course) on the V-reg facelift 2.5v6. Stripped the top off, took cover off, cleaned everything properly, put new gaskets on, torqued up correctly. Put back together. Car purrs like a kitten. Little smokey for a minute then seems to have stopped. Good, just burned off the left overs. Quick rev and a bit more smoke, rev again, smoke again. Eh?

? Cannot see anything leaking, smoke is coming from between the top heat shield and the manifold by the look of things. Now this is odd.
Then spot water dripping at the back of the engine onto the ground. OK, so water leaking and smoking. Me thinking oil coler not fitted right. Oh joy. Another funtastic job for yours truly.
So, off the drive with that and next.... the Corsa CDti. Two main jobs today. Both front wishbones and an oil/filter change. So, first, off with the front wheels and then off with each wishbone. Actually damned easy job, 30 minutes each really. MUCH easier than omegas. Then onto that oil change. First removed the heat shiedl from the oil filter housing, then drained oil off. Now, someone please tell me how, no matter where you put the drain can, the sodding oil manages to miss? 1 litre + of VERY black diesel infected oil on my immaculately clan driveway I just did last weekend!

Then, just for fun I discover that the filter is actualy different to any of the 12 or so I have. Never mind, off to halfords as they are nearest. they can order one on Tuesday. 'dangle berries'. Off to another spares shop. They had 3 in stock! Hooray

. One for a transit, one for an old peugoet and one they were not sure of. Boooooo!!!!

SO, off to VX main dealer just in case they are open. They were, but spares closed. So, I mentioned that I own a driving school and might be interested in replacing the fleet with new corsa. Oh, could they possibly sell me a filter. No, inmpossible. Not a problem. Would they take cash for the 3 new corsa's? Yes? Change for a zonk you w@nkers?
So, drove everywhere and finally had to admit defeat. Get back, put old filter back on and chuck in the 1.5 litres of oil I had left. Enough to start and get me off the drive again.
Then concentrate traffic film remover, one stiff brush and the jet wash to remove mopst of the filth from the driveway.
So, fun fun fun it wasn't.
SHUT IT!
