Hallo everybody, I'm living in the southern part of the Netherlands, close to the Belgian border (thanks heaven) where it is a lot cheaper to get fuel than it is on this side of the border.
I'm 62 years, an electronics technician, selfemployed.
My car, (an Opel Omega station car 1998) has an Koltec Egi system, so, apart from the dreaded roadtax, it's quit cheap running.
I have this car only since beginning februari and I'm trying to find out as much as pos. about it so i 'm able to do as much maintenance as pos. myself.
Sofar, I've replaced the sparkplug leads, cleaned and fitted a revision set to the gas distribution unit, replaced faulty dynamo, replaced burned out instrument bulbs in the dashboard panel and found out how to do the paperclip trick.
I still like the car, drives like a dream if all is well.
however, there have been some moments that i cursed the bloody thing and wished i'd never set eyes on it , so it's a little bit love/hate affair.
anyway, I'm happy to have found this forum and it has already given me lots of info, thanks for that !
Grtz, Ed
