Does anyone have a list
« on: 28 August 2007, 18:42:09 »

..of jobs to do on a new Omega acquisition?

On my new Elite ('98 123k) I have changed HBV and camcover seals (both needed), cleaned breathers, replaced plugs, changed oil/filter,air filter and coolant.
Next I intend to change autobox oil/filter and finish the regular service -fuel, pollen filter, clean/check brakes , change fluid.
Cambelt is due in c. 7k so will aim to do that + water pump soonest.

If any of you guys who have regular processions of Omega's passing through your hands has a checklist that would be very useful :y.

Cheers,

Ian

I haven't done the tranny or brake fluid.  Would if they weren't so messy.  ::)

I might put a crank sensor down as a replace ASAP part.  Only thing that has 'gone wrong' on mine (pre-flood that is).

Taking the rear brakes apart and checking them can be a good idea.  Check the wishbones too.

Last but not least, flog the cr@p out of it (and make sure the dual ram thingies work).  Mine gained 40-50hp after caning it for a week or two.  Hand been driven too softly.  (My dual ram worked fine.)
