VectraC and Signum owners take note.....
« on: 30 August 2007, 13:53:07 »

I've just received a letter from vx asking me nicely to attach a sticker to the drivers sun visor....its reads.....

Warning
Advice when parking
Always apply the handbrake fully taking care not to depress the lever release button
To reduce operating forces, depress the footbrake at the same time
Before switching off the ignition:
With manual transmission engage reverse gear (if facing downhill) or firt gear (if facing uphill)
With automatic transmission move the selector to the 'P' postion

Looks like a few vectraC's and signums have been running away  ;D

And it looks like VOSA has told vx to attach these stickers to the cars and we will let you get away with a rubbish handbrake  ;D

Standard problem with that handbrake setup which is fitted to loads of makes, its because the disc cools down after the handbrake is applied and the grip goes of......its used by Over, Ford, VAG, Vaux and many others.

Oh not that stupid actuation rod through the caliper - what is wrong with the Omega mini drum style?

These calipers have been a pain since they were invented

Yup, had a few Rovers with rear discs (only). You soon get used to leaving in gear on steep slopes (tend to leave in gear anyway, just habit)
