One for LPG guys here, the Elite has a Romano LPG system installed (at least thats what it says on the LPG fuel gauge)

It's idling too low on gas, barely runs. Put any amount of throttle on it and it tends to stall. Its fine at speed, had it at 80+ on gas for ages, ran smooth. Even at lower speeds its fine, but if you come to a stand still, it will stall.

Its a 2 point mixer system, the gas injects in each of the front bag pipes (its a 2.5) with the return feed above the injection point, now the rubber looked like it had a hole in it, but upon removing the pipes the hole cannot be seen from the inside, is there a way to turn up the idle on the Romano system?

Excellent if he does, I think since the LPG system was totally re-piped, the pressure in the system will be different, and needs the idle adjusting....

This system is similar (insert Formica reference for the oldies  ) to mine, I had this problem after a backfire blew the bagpipes to bits, (result of not changing the leaking camcover).

The cause was an air leak, errratic tickover and then dying when throttle is pressed before it picks up to rev over 2k

I have a throttling valve on a "Y" junction as the pipes split off to both sides of the inlet trumpet before the bagpipes.

However this does sound like an air leak - but I know an installer near work so if you can get to Evesham area he will look at it CIH

Yes....airleaks will cause backfires....
If the system has been 'played' with it really does need setting up again....its probably not at the correct pressure anymore.....as Martin says....visit to lpg installer is required
