opinions on an elite anyone?
« on: 07 September 2007, 16:04:08 »

opinions on this please?

i messaged the guy who posted the not so informative advert, it has 140k on it, but apparently a recent cambelt change, FSH and full black leather

for £1895

bearing in mind i'd probably be willing to pay out a bit more for one with less mileage

thats quite cheap outwith an auction for year model and spec.

So i would be wary, no harm in going to see it - obviously viewing the history, the reciepts for cam / roller change etc

there are a few things that the 2.5 doesn't get as std that the 3.0 does (at least pre facelift).  Leather being one which this one says it has.
Not sure what else you may be missing - but worth knowing.

I think from other posts 140k is long in the tooth for the AR25 box,  otherwise I wouldn't be afraid of the miles.

exactly, i'm extremely fussy when it comes to buying this car (not wanting to get your hopes up tunnie if its not "exactly" what i want), leather was only an option on a 2.5 and i've seen a few on trader with the cream leather which is what i want, i'd be happy to pay out a little more if i knew i was getting one that had all its toys working properly and a nicely running engine, and of course the sound system needs to work, i like good music to play as good as it should! :y

Listed as 'trade seller' so see if there's a warranty available with it.

Mr Jason Ahmed  ::) There's a lot to be said for condition though   :y Go check it out.

black leather though... i know, i'm fussy!

i have a few phonecalls to make regarding insurance but i'm sure i can get a reasonable price, but i also have the ball ache of getting the elite, transferring my private number plate over, then not being able to put my current car off the road anywhere until it sells!

ideally if i'm honest i would prefer a black or blue (at a push the dark red) elite with beige leather, less than 100k with history and  cambelt kit done, all toys working, and in nice condition, around 2000 X, for less than £3,000, and if i could get a better price for one thats due a cambelt then i'd go for it and have the full kit and water pump done too

only reason i dont want green is because the one i have now is green, and it would be a refreshing change! and all the other cars in the family are green!

my insurance is due for renewal this month, and i'll have been driving for 3 years and also be on a years no claims again
