Hi all,

Since I've not done it yet, (and yes - it's overdue

), and I'm new to the car, could someone tell me how similar the exercise would be compared to the (really excellent

)maintenance guide's - I only see reference to the petrol engines on the other board.

Soz, don't know. But when you do yours, do a guide

It will be same sort of thing, different filter etc.

One thing with diesels, oil changes are critical, and the BMW engine is every 5k MAX...

I got the car at 65,000ish, and it's only about 400 miles over at the moment, but I want to get it done sooner, rather than a much more expensive later

Used to have a P reg TD and needed a massive 36mm

socket to get the oil filter off!! First and only diesel I've owned so was suprised to find the filter at the top of the engine , apart from that was not a problem .
