Oil Change on the Oil Burner
« on: 13 October 2006, 14:34:14 »

Hi all,

Since I've not done it yet, (and yes - it's overdue :-[), and I'm new to the car, could someone tell me how similar the exercise would be compared to the (really excellent  ;))maintenance guide's - I only see reference to the petrol engines on the other board.

Cheers all...

Soz, don't know. But when you do yours, do a guide :y

It will be same sort of thing, different filter etc.

One thing with diesels, oil changes are critical, and the BMW engine is every 5k MAX...

I'll try and remember to take some pics then!  :)

I got the car at 65,000ish, and it's only about 400 miles over at the moment, but I want to get it done sooner, rather than a much more expensive later ;)

Used to have a P reg TD and needed a massive 36mm  :o socket to get the oil filter off!! First and only diesel I've owned so was suprised to find the filter at the top of the engine , apart from that was not a problem . :y :y
