Lights by grab handles and those in the door pockets on a saloon are triggered by the door pin switch.  Could you fit these to your estate and wire in a remote switch to replace the pin switch - maybe?

Cheers for the info guys.......i assume they are part of the grab handle molding? I'll have too see if i can get a couple from a scrappy and add them in  :y

Just got a CDX 03 estate, it has lights up by the grab rails and kerb lights in doors. all appear to be triggerd by the door opening.

Not checked how the switch works but I can check if its any help.

I think perhaps its the differance between CD and CDX, Elite?

Would have thought it could be moded.

Hi Guys

Checked the lights in the grab rail in the rear of the CDX estate 03.

There is a 3 position switch next to the light, 1-Off completley, 2-comes On when individual rear door opens, 3- On constantly.

You can easily reach back and switch the offside one on from the drivers seat, but supose you wouldnt want to do that if you had a stranger in the back. :-/

Sounds like abit of an odd idea but if you have the rear door molding lights in place couldn't you wire them to come on when you pull the switch by the driver.

May mean additional cabling but it may work, sort of like adding an extra piece into the loop so to speak.
