Fitting a cat 1 alarm on my MV6
« on: 06 December 2006, 14:43:28 »

In short, is it going to interfere with the existing Vauxhall alarm system?

If so, what is my options as i would like to sort a cat 1 alarm for it, whether it be an upgrade or whatever.

Being that the current alarm I believe is a thatcham they are already pretty good, if upgrading I would be thinking take to a garage that should know what they are doing.

Personally I avoid messing about with the alarm as its too risky to mess up imo.

Not unless you've got experience of such things

Just my tuppence worth :y

I am pretty certain the Vx system is a CAT 1 anyway. Mark will confirm/deny this.

Is there any way of proving this? I'm just thinking about insurance companies and the like.

Cheers Mark, but I'll have to check with them because I didn't know that and didn't declare it as such!
