i wish i lived near you, it would be a good learning curve to help you dig about the wiring and circuits to see if anything was found. i have a lighting problem myself. tone let us know what ur results are.

Have replaced the immobiliser bits so doubtful.. and wouldn't have been the cause of it only running on 2. I don't think this would cause all the dash lights not to work either.

My friend is taking a look this weekend, lets hope he finds something..

Anothet stupid question really, i am sure you have checked this but:

I had the same symptons on my megga when i pressed open with the key in the barrel and engine running.

I blew fuse 15, the car would crank but not fire. I also got all internal lights, and full beam lights, I even got "Auto" in the climate dash, just no dash lights. (oil, abs, ect)

I'd test each fuse with a multimeter to double check none of them are the cause?

You have prob done the above, but worth a try!

It really sounds like no power to ECU or instrument cluster.  What about the ECU dash loom?  Crank signal going directly from ignition to starter, but ECU and warning lights AWOL.  When my crank sensor died, engine cranked but EML went dim during cranking.  Therefore, don't worry about backlights going dim.  Good luck!
