I have the same car ( auto) and tend to get about 22mpg around the doors and around 33-35mpg on a run

Seems a tad low. I would have thought you would get over 20mpg as I do on my 3.0 v6

Seems a little on the low side, when did you last clean breathers, throttle bodies and replace spark plugs?

Might be beneficial to check for fault codes.

Cam timing makes a big difference too.. I had a 3.0 Meega that was too advanced once, and it DRANK it!!

My 2.5 auth does about 20mpg around town, 30+ on a run.

Mines a 3 litre and I'm getting 21ish round the town, can get it lower if I hurtle round like a lunatic though!

I get 28mpg average mainly A roads and M-way but some suburban driving . Granted I drive like an old fart around town :D but it's never below 90 on the M-way :y!

Might have a lot to do with the 'chip' you've got in there , could maybe do a swap for the old chip and see if there's much differance? But if your right foot is heavy it will use a lot more ;)!!

mine's getting 18-19 MPG around town, quite a few short journeys from cold in with that which don't help as it's running rich, but then again I bought a 3.0 for the extra power ... and tend to use it  ;)

it's much better on longer runs though ... seem to remember getting 19-20 MPG on similar driving on the 2.5 I had previously ... plus isn't it normal to get lower MPG when running on LPG?

13mpg :y :y

However that is from Calor to town centre - idling for 5 mins, driving up hill to home, driving to Tesco cold and back, driving to newsagent, leaving car idling because it has no petrol in it, driving around town to a pet store then home again.

Let car warm up fully until switch over, thrash to work, drive hard home.

So only a few miles since filled up and a lot of idling to save petrol.

Will get better over the tank

13 MPG on Gas Oh my God I would be Crying my eyes out.

You have not put a Sherman Tank Engine in there have you lol Oh no They do 1/2 MPG ouch and the New ones do even less.

What would you normal MPG be about on Gas ? Think i get about 30 odd on Gas about town and i have a heavy foot for high revs

thanks guys!
seems like it can vary quite a bit!
before the chip, it used to be just over 17mpg
before the lpg conversion(over 2 yrs ago now), i think it was around 18
the spark plugs were changed about ten months ago, when i changed the cam cover gaskets, and cleaned the breathers
i think it should have a full service, and maybe another clean of those breathers...

I only get 15mpg in my 2.2 on lpg running about town so 16 mpg for a 2.6 seems ok to me  :y
When i looked yesterday the comp said av mpg was 20mpg and av speed was 19mph......even tho i just blatted it up the m4 to heathrow.....so just shows how much town work i do!
