I get 245 miles for £56 pounds...I would like to improve that!

I dont know about adding value to your car but i guess it should i got mine which is a single point injection system it has a thing over the throttle housing that lets the LPG in with the air looks a very simple system mine i do know others on here have multipoint injection systems.

i got my Meega For £2600 which is a 2L 16V W Reg Year 2000 with 62000 on the clock i dont know if you would pay that for a Meega with no LPG.

As for Miles and Price I drive back Home to the north abit and it cost me between 18-20 quid and thats normaly at 80-90 most of the way oh its Exactly 250miles one way the trip, but dont for get mine is only a 4 pot.

There are a few types of kits, mixer - equivalent to carb, single point injection, sequential injection.

SGI is best with a sequential injection petrol car

SGI is around the 1600 1800 mark but DIY it for about £800, you can get kits off Ebay or off some installers (see Car Mechanics mag) , I can get Romano kit.

Value added depends on car and age of kit, working SGI can add £1000 on to the value of a car.

Agreed paolo you seam to be getting very poor mpg, what does the MID say?

Paolo has a full engine and it sounds like either he boots it or he does lots of slow roads

When I bought my 97 3.0 Elite from the auction, it came with a mixer system already fitted. However, it has never worked and I've been told by a LPG 'specialist' that my system will never work because of the dual-ram air intake on the V6.

I refuse to believe this is the case.

Issunaz has a mixer system on a 3.0 V6 which works so they know bog all.

So what doesn't work then?

I'd suggest subscribing to the yaho group lp-gas they are helpfull

I asked them to try and set the gas up, as it was cutting out when switched over to it. A lad I know works for them, so they were doing it cheaper.

The boss there told me it'll never run as it is because of the dual air intakes. He reckons the mixture's fine when idling, but as soon as you rev it there isn't enough gas and it'll blowback. Plus he said that one of the air intakes was soft and it should be air tight so the vacuum pulls the gas through the mixers.

I think it's had a blowback in the past and it's knackered the seal on one of them. The lad I know said if I get another set, he'll fit them instead and put the two mixers in lower down and level with each other.

I just can't see how someone would pay £1000+ for a system to be installed professionally, only for it never to work. It wouldn't happen would it.

hi all ive had 3 cars with lpg if you have had the one that is fitted in the intake and you run out off gas you will have a blowback in the airfilter it will nacker the unit that feeds the gas ? thats what happend to frist car to the cost off 7oo pounds  the best typ strat  in to cilinders but you must not run out wile you are driving   hoppen that you have not got i hope i speel this rit teterane sisteam they have had a lot trouble if you can lay your hands on a nouther sender and try that. the first 2 cars larsted 30000 miles ?i brought rover 800 33000 on ciock had it gased with strat into cilders grate coude not tell drif soled car with 90000 and still good but it dose not incrise value i hop this helps                                                                        john

Anyway I'd suggest scouring Ebay and scrappies for components, then take them to the installer.

Failing that get an SGI system fitted

The LPG works when it's idling, it's just when you rev the engine that it cuts out because the gas doesn't get pulled through due to the air intakes having a broken seal.

The blowback didn't damage the airbox, just the gaitor part of the air intake where it clips onto the throttle body.

I'm not going to upgrade the system to an SGI, as I'm still unsure as to whether I'm going to keep the car due to intermittent problems with the autobox.
