Cam cover gasket 2.0 Ecotac
« on: 23 February 2007, 13:43:10 »

Hi there!

Can anyone please advise, Going to change Cam cover gasket on my 2.0 16v Ecatec, with a  new genuine gasket. Should the new gasket come with O rings and black sealent or is that just with the v6 omega's. It's just that when I phoned the Vauxhall garage, the parts man said you just get a gasket and you don't need O rings and sealent .:-/

Any advice as I am picking gasket up after work
Thanks.

Your Spot on Mark

1 Gasket and 10 O rings are needed, Black sealant is a must, the green snot they supply just isn't upto the job.

Thanks for reply

Why are Vauxhall only supplying gasket. I asked the man and he did not know what I was talking  about.   no O ring and no black sealent. just a gasket!!!  Might try another Vaux garage.
That is a (8, cant recall) ?

Thanks
