Freeing off Leccy window

Right, some of you may remember me posting that my drivers side leccy window stopped working. It was intermittent then failed. It was suggested that the actual button could have gone.... since i had my dads facelift apart today I swapped them over.

Still no joy, all windows work but not the drivers  >:(

I could see the bit where it actually is supposed to move, put a screw driver in-between the teeth and tried to free it off but again no joy, is there any way of freeing the damn thing? I am sure its just stuck....

I can hear the relay tick when i press to close the window.

Looking at it, i really don't want to replace it as its riveted on and it looks like the side air-bag sensor would have to be removed too which is also riveted   >:( >:( >:(

Was it sticking/tight before it failed?  Of is it intermittent, and when it works its faultless?

Ermm it began to stop working when it was up, would take 3/4 attempts on pressing the button for it to go down. Once it was working, it would go up and down fine.... its just getting it to move in the first place

Is the drive gear taking up any slack when you press the button i.e. any sign of movement....

Can you get the glass to go down whilst offering 'some' assistance.......

So you left it until it was totaly goosed before trying to fix it  ::)  ;)

Err well the first time it went i thought just sticky, not used it all winter practically, then last time it went, it went for good....

No movement what so ever in the gears, does not move 1 mm, you can't even hear it try and move it  :(

can't be the button, swapped it with a known working one... must be the electrics in the motor itself

Fair assumption, or the wiring inbetween (less likely, but presumably you've checked).

Is passenger front window OK?  If not, check F1.

vxhall window motors are all the same !!! easy fix is to give the motor a sharp cpuple of taps while flicking the button on and off you will hear it clunk and start to move !!

right, well the motor is dead  >:(

Big thanks to TheBoy for popping over and having a look.

Question is are mini-facelift and facelift electric window motors the same??
