My local tyre peeps are a friendly bunch and they know me as I am always in there getting tyres swapped over etc.
Anyway, took a puncture in there this morning. 'Oh, here he is' said one of the lads, 'this is the bloke I was on about - he knows everything about Omegas'
Turns out one of the guys there has bought one and wanted some info. It is a 1996 P-reg, grey, Elite. Right you've got a 3.0 v6 then. Nope, its a 2.5. Had an engine change then? Nope, all original. Ok, then its not an Elite then. Yes it is, it says CDX Elite on the log book. It's got leather and everything mate, you don't know much about Omegas then after all.
Right, numpty. pay attention. CDX is a model and Elite is a different model. Someone has badged this CDX as an Elite, that's why its got a 2.5 and not a 3.0. Also that is why it still has CDX wheels, seats are not memory and it has no BOSE system. A what? he said.
Lets hear it then. OK, turn it off and order yourself a new engine. Worst knocking I've heard since Hughie Green in the 1960's.
Aghhhhh, you don't know what you're talking about.
Muppet!
