Admins - please edit tech info re bulbs
« on: 02 April 2007, 20:45:54 »

Having checked the tech info about lamp fittings, I ordered 4 Osram +50's, went to fit them to my 97 barge, only to find that instead of having 4 H1 lamps, i've got H7's in my high beam.  These are projector lenses if that helps.  Is it worth a quick poll to see if all projectors have H1 / H7 combinations?
Ta muchly.

Sorry, don't know which bulbs fit which, as both my Omegas are HIDs (though I do have a spare set of projectors on my dining room table ::))

Why don't you start a poll?

By the way, are the pins on the front indicator bulbs offset or opposite?
I want to get some chrome ones to get rid of the "orange look".

If they are projectors, then it will have H7 according to that info (it says H7 fitted to high beam on all mini facelift onwards).  If you have projectors (that haven't been retro fitted) then its mini facelift...

Hi..I used to drive a november 1998 2.5 cdx..that had projector lights ..they were next to useless..bulbs in low beam were H7 and H1 in high beam..the only way I could see was to drive with fog lights on as well..kept being pulled over by "plod"warning me of fine ..as not foggy..told him lights were us but they don,t care..atleast I now have some proper lights thanks to changing to Elite..that has HID on low beam and they are truly great

IIRC they are offset.  I have chrome ones fitted and they look great.  Halfords now do an irredesant blue bulb now, that looks like a bluebottle in petrol - they might look nice next to your HID's.  :)

Luckily for you, I have a spare pair of projector headlights on my dining room table, much to Mrs TheBoy's disgust.

Just checked, offset.

Still, she should be pleased that I have removed the 4 computers and the printer that were on the table for weeks ::)

Hi, I have four chrome effect indicators sitting in the shed, pay the postage and they are yours free.
p.s. I have projector type headlights with H1 and H7 bulbs.
