Alarm
« on: 22 April 2007, 17:42:04 »

When I lock the doors a led in a switch on the dash flashes. What does the switch do? Is it to turn off the alarm?
Thanks
Richard

This is to show that the alarm/immobilser is armed. Have you got a haynes manual/handbook?

If you press the switch and then set the alarm within 10 seconds? It bypasses the interior sensors, in case you want to leave a dog or the kids in the car (not recommended), you can still lock it but the alarm will not go off from interior movement. You can also leave the sunroof or windows slightly open on a sunny day without the air movement triggering the alarm.

As said, the dash switch disables the ultrasonic sensors, leaving only the perimeter armed...
