Which cambelt??
« on: 21 April 2007, 23:49:18 »

Hi, i wonder if anyone could she a little light on this..

I have jsut bought a GM cambelt kit from fleabay for £60 notes and now i am unsure if i have the correct one.

I called Vx before i bought the kit and they said for my W plate omega which is powered by an X20XEV, i will need kit number - 93174261.  This it the kit i ordered off ebay. Now since then i discovered mark_DTM's part number listing, please see extract below:-

Cam Belt Kits

Omega/Elite                                             Part Number            Retail Price            Trade Club Available
X20SE                                                      93188134                £36.95                   yes
X20XEV to 14195375/31029799                  93174260                £86.00                   yes
X20XEV from 14195376/31029800              93174261                £86.00                   yes
2.5/3.0 to 08300418                                  93188674                £140.00                 yes
2.5/2.6/3.0/3.2 08300419 to 08578511        9201887                 £115.00                 yes
2.5/2.6/3.0/3.2 from 08578512                   93172354               £115.00                 yes

After reading the above i am a little worried as my engine number reads - 3108xxxx!  Mine isn't even mentioned in the listing, so have i got the right kit? I think my 2L was one of the latest ones, just before they moved over to the 2.2's.

I'll be doing the belt next weekend and i'll be sure to double check it before i install, although i wonder if anyone knows why my engine number doesn't tally up with the listing??

PS: The belt has a p/n of 90 531 682 39, does this help at all???

Cheers and thanks.

Marc

Since your engine number is higher than 3102xxxx, then your belt kit is 93174261.
