had my appeal heard at work
« on: 16 September 2007, 21:59:15 »

I went to my appeal on friday with the general manager at my depot we spent an hour going through the appeal and he decided that he should goto this road in cheddleton and have a first hand look for himself at what i am being disciplined for. So now all i can do is wait for a letter giving me his verdict on the matter nowhe told me that this matter can go 1 of 4 ways 1 they can dismiss all charges 2 reduce to verbal warning 3 uphold original verdict or 4 terminate my contract.....So now i wait...If they do sack me then at least i can move on cause for the past 3 days i`ve been 2nd guessing myself all the time at work i.e. did i pull out in front of anyone? did i take the correct lane on that island? have i done this right have i done that right...  :-/  :-/

As we said before mate, get another job unless the pay with Comet is astonishingly good it's not worth the grief you're going through.

Good luck with the appeal though.  :)

I certainly hope things go your way and that the manager, once he views the route, takes the same view as yourself and dismisses all adverse comment.

I still think its time to get the papers out and look for pastures new though.......   8-)

i know lads the only reason i`m still there at the mo is cause i aint walking away from them i aint giving em the satisfaction of making me run... i was bullied at secondry school and since then ive stood and fought my corner and i dont intend to give in to these bullies i`ll exhaust every avenue i can within the system before they defeat me...and if they do dispense with me then i`ll go elsewhere and be an asset for someone elses company.... :y

Good luck.  I'm starting to second-guess too.  Have to take my test soon, again.  Someone who was born when I took the test would be several years older than I was at the time.  >:( >:(

Yeah, it sounds good when you way that to yourself.  However, by doing the opposite of what you think they want you to do, what you do is still defined by what they want.  Therefore, what they want is controlling your life more than what you want is.  SIck and twisted, but true.  You can't get completely away from it, but do watch out for it.

Agreed, even if you get completely let off, do one and find somewhere that you might get respected more.. if thats at all possible

This would also be my advice, you cannot work for a firm that really doesnt want you, and it really sounds like the Managers dislike you for some reason.

If you do win your case, then it is only going to be a matter of time, before they start on you again.

Dont waste your time and effort for a firm that dont deserve it.

You are worth more :y

They gave me time off to study, etc

Anyways 2nd time around i passed it easy  :y

2 days later i handed in my notice  ;D .....it was very satisfying at the time  :y

hi mate, i cant belive your company is being so bulliyish about this , lets think about it you did not intend to have this accident ,nor did you tthink at any time your company would react in the way they have, it sounds like youve been proven guilty before youve been tride,
i work for a very large  british telecom company (lol) , i was unfortuanatly involved in a road accident also,,, i went across a large 4 way traffic light and hit 4 cars,, righting of 2 of them and my own works van,also.....
my boss / company were excellent they were on my side from the begining to the end , i put my explanaition to them and it was delt with professionaly and with diplomacy at all times, i still work for the company with no problems whats so ever, i just hope for you who ever is in charge of your investegation uses common sence and an amicable outcome is resolved, god bless, and good luck, !!
