4 pot cambelt change...
« on: 05 May 2007, 10:05:54 »

Chaps,

I plan to change my belt on my old 4pot this morning and can't seem to find a how2 for one, does anyone know if we have one at all?

I have M_DTM's locking tool to hand and a GM belt kit, so all i need now is a how2!  I'm 90% sure on what to do although i'd rather be 100% correct in my head before i start out.

Cheers

The Haynes BoL covers it pretty well.  Could be a good investment if only for all the torque settings.

2L cambelt change is not too difficult.  Basically (from memory) set to TDC, remove aux belt, pulley  wiring loom, cam cover, replace belt, rollers, tensioner, water pump and reassemble.

I had a feeling that someone had a guide work in progress but maybe it wasn't published yet.

Cheers

Found the haynes... was with spare wheel.   :)

4 pot belt change was much easier than i thought, didn't take ling at all!  Only down side is that the belt cover fell to bits as i removed it!!  :(
