He clearly does not know that much then......

It is a standard X30XE with a possible slight remap by Gm Special Vehicles......who build the Plod cars and hence why its possibly considered a special.

They add the uprated springs etc and do the small tweaks requried befre the car is shipped to the local force for fitting out.
:-/If buying an ex plod car how do you insure it as a civvy vehicle should you declare the mods & tweaks you & others have mentioned? Can you get away with saying it's a police spec MV6 or civilian MV6? If you insured it as civilian would you be covered if you pranged & claimed? :o

Good question, never really thought about it!  but come on people, how many of us tell our insurers about mods like alloys, springs, different bumpers/spoilers? :o

I do, it's not worth the risk to not declare as they'll use any excuse to void a claim should you need to make one and that's an ideal opportunity to do so. My Omega is pretty much standard other than the dual-fuel (declared of course) but my BMW has a few minor mods and they are all listed on my policy. Only adds an extra £50 or so, no point paying hundreds for insurance that may turn out to be worthless if you claim.

end of day as long as you insure car as Private car which it is and basically as it says on log book... your covered!!!!!! as mentioned before i used to be motor underwriter for AXA/guardian insurance....... if they was any discrepancy's at all ..... we simply went by log book...... which as long as its standard / any mods declared fully covered!!!!!!!

insrance company's have lists of cars and no matter if its ex-police, goverment liason etc etc if its an elite or and mv6... thats what it is!! :y
