Wonder if they still brew Newquay steam bitter extra? That stuff was bloody rocket fuel. I've ended up unconscious loads of times off it. ;D
Hmm Guinness, real beers or the occasional cider.  :y

Ah, Budvar, the real stuff not the american sugar water stuff. I was working over in Prague for a couple of weeks, and you could buy a round of 5 1/2litres of the real Budvar for £2 plus get change back !. My current tipple is Old Speckled Hen, a rather nice brew. Mind you, in Leicester there was a small off license called 'The Offie', and he stocked about 500 different types of beer. He used to travel the country, and abroad, discovering all these small breweries and buying a few crates at a time. It was great, you could start at one end of his selection, have a different beer every night, and not have reached the end a year later!. Haven't discovered anywhere like that up in yorkshire yet.

How can you start a lager / beer thread without a decent beer on the list!

Hear, Hear! I only drink any of the above in desperation of the lack of proper beer. [smiley=beer.gif]

When it was first introduced to the mass market in the 80's my granddad led the marketing campaign......when he retired it just seemed to disappear!

We used to get case loads of it free.

Oh, Crikey! Anything that's been near a cylinder of nitrogen tastes like dish water (if it has any flavour at all, that is). To think I used to drink Caffreys quite regularly before I "saw the light" too... <shudder>
