Couple Of Questions (Shocks, Steering Idle Arm)
« on: 04 June 2007, 16:05:26 »

Hello EveryOne

Was Checking My Brake Pads on Sunday and After i took the front wheels off i saw the the inside edge of the front tires has worn down which is strange as i had a standard  tracking done not that long ago by Toni at STS watford

Also checked the wishbones and one of the rubbers bushes looked alittle worse for wear.

Anyway next weekend i have decided to replace the wishbones, The track rods, front discs and pads, and then get a Full Geometry set up done by Toni at STS in watford and 4 new tires

Question I am wanting to know is I think my Rear Shocks are alittle bit weepy so i want to replace them also but can i do this after the Full Geometry set up and still be ok or should i change them before. I am just short on funds cant pay for everything at once.

Also the Steering Idle arm are there Two on the omega or just one, as i had a look yesterday and it looked like there were two.
I know you dont need to retrack after changing them or am i wrong ? Just think the steering is alittle lose.

Does anyone know how much a Full Geometry Set up is for the front and rear at STS Watford ?

Thanks
Craig

Inner shoulder wear will be a camber issue.

Full geometry costs vary depending on what needs adjusting - give him a call to get worse case scenario (its likely it will all need adjusting to get it right). Remember to mention Omega Owners as well :y

As you probably know ‘standard tracking’ is not the same as ‘full geometry’, and when you do full geometry you also need to come back to Toni after 2000 miles for free check to make sure the setting stay the same.

Had mine done at Toni’s after seeing the white canvas on the inner treads, changed tyres and got full geometry done - 25k ago and still have dead equal tyre wear across the thread…

You should be ok changing the rear shocks after you have had the full geometry done as the shocks do not determine ride height & only dampen rear spring compression

You could, of course, ask Toni at STS - he is the expert.
