Water Pump
« on: 06 June 2007, 09:01:53 »

Update. Had water pump changed, now the airbag light is lit constantly and the heat goes into red and light comes on. What's going on was assured by the garage,  that the water pump was my overheating problem.

Any advise?????? :(

Not a good garage by the sound of it......I'm yet to find a water pump causing these symptoms on a V6 (they have a metal impeller).

My money is on a blocked rad, something they should have checked first with an infra red temp probe, I have a spare if its of any use.

As for the airbag light, fairly easy to reset with tech 2 or similar (diag tool set) but, what have they done to cause it to come on is the question

Surely if the just changed the water pump and the car keeps overheating then the garage have to come up with some ideas as to what to do next...?

Also, I remember you asking some questions regarding the thermostat, has anything been done there?

Only way to reset airbag light is with Tech2 (real or cheapo, though the later can be flakey on the SRS system)
